Splurge of the night

So it's 3:19 am,

Just got call from gf about the weekend, small frustrations here and there between us about 'knowing' the absolute detail of the weekend.

Frustrating for me because I was originally blamed for 'not knowing what's going on' or 'why can't I ask or know about things that might be happening? (dinner plan) '

I have to disagree, if you got something to say, say it and mention it and instead of making excuses about me being too busy to hear about it, just next time, communicate. That's the key word. If I'm really too busy to hear about it and carry out related errands to find out more about the weekend, fine, I would delegate the task to someone to find out or if i don't, then it would be my fault.

But if i dont' even know about a certain idea that someone has in mind which is of high priority , how can i take any action in the first place to work out something more concrete? I'm not psychic or am I? What underwear are you wearing? Pink?

Anyways, splurge of the night, Everything's dandy now.

Communicate as my sis always says.

Things on my mind currently...

So, instead of making a long post rambling like I always do on my dragonboat forums or on my blog, I feel like just posting a few random thoughts of things that are going through my mind right now; so that, this would constitute as a post that would redeem for my lack of posting.

  • Food, Hungry, stayed out too late, ate 3 pieces of quesadilla
  • 2:35 am, I should sleep, you dont' lose time, you lose initiative
  • Readyin' up for tommorow, DB stuff, clothes, laundry from dryer...
  • World issues, science, religion, faith, life, society, and education ( whole slew of it tonight )
  • Charity - doing what feels right or doing what's logical : Logical. ( so sorry no random giving to homeless people anymore. )
  • My goals - so much crap I 'want' to do like clean up my computer of junk. Benefit - gain of space, performance, organized music library... ( nerd alert )
  • Dirtyness in the house, we need a friggin maid; Ed said preferably a hot maid. ( once a month will do )
  • Code Complete - reading Steve McConnell's book about Software construction. I acutally kinda like software engineering.
  • Coop term - being asked and will have to discuss on monday about a prospective returning for the third time to RIM.
  • Ate at Lotus Tea House - vegetarian again. Hungry but felt good.
  • 2 Hour walk RIM Coop scavenger hunt around downtown kitchener - I danced with an old lady and got kicked out of Mcdonalds for the first time
  • Db still runs my life, gave me fitness, friends, energy, and ability to focus. Wow sports do work!
  • ERG 1000m 3:52 baby. I'll do better next time...
  • Idy tommorow - after two weeks, chillin', movie, dinner, good ol' relaxation ( missing my hair now )
  • My hair, after a week, people still going about it.
  • Enough for now... goodnight world
Wow I managed to ramble in bullet points... Still good, I had a Blog urge much like an urge to expel nauseous bodily gases after I eat a can of beans...Goodnite

Hair Shaving Ritual

Too lazy to post my experiences about the weekend of July 16th for now!

Refer to DanJ's journal for more information about what happened to my hair. Check under his media blog for a full media experience of my drastic change :)

I'm at work slaving away at fixing bugs and reading software developmental books. It's kinda fun actually...

Looks like the db season hasn't ended yet for me or my Swordfishies... Personally doing Montreal and Stratford for sure , possibly doing London, Brampton...

Inspiration...

There are many things in this world that I could do... Just like for working out, you should have a goal of some sort to work out 'for' as oppose to blindly working at something but not even knowing where you're heading at.

I do have goals, but they don't seem to be long-term enough. I guess there are things I need to see first or learn about before I get some motivation to do what I'm doing right now.

Work's been okay, I should be more thankful I have this job and the people around me. Should really pick up the pace and work hard because I know this will help my own confidence and offer me a much better skill set to be able to do everything else that's out there and not just saying I want to do those things.

So right now, I need to focus focus focus, like in Dragonboat, focus focus focus and know that the things I do aren't completely pointless (obviously you gotta be smart about choosing the right things to do)... and that If I do things smartly, I will gain the better out of it.

p.s. I don't know what i'm talkin about =)
p.p.s. WATERLOOO DB FESTIVAL THIS SATURDAY!!! Laurel Creek, racing the whole day and getting CRUNKED at night ( why am i using such terms? )

I'm tired...

I'm so tired right now and pooped from eating Morty's : man I should have worked out like Antonia but no spending time with Alan was good. Talked about the world being destroyed in the future and all that funky amusing things that we have no intention in having it happen.

Anyhow, to cut the story short : this is what happened in the weekend since i'm too confused right now to decide what i should be doing this week. My goals are all over on top of my head : speaking of which, I have to post my edited goals list which is just really the same list I posted 2 months ago with reordered priorities.

  • Hamilton Festival Saturday - Took home bronze medal 3rd overall with Swordfish Dragonboat team. It was a definate great experience to bring home a medal ( even though they ran out ) for the first time ever since I began dragon boating.
  • Michelle (Lin's) BBQ / Shu's Birthday - They were wondering why I took so long in the bathroom removing the grime from lake ontario after driving an hour and a half back to North York from Hamilton... Fun night with tons of food ( i was starving ) and good gelato made by birthday boy Shu. I wished we celebrated his birthday a little better it seemed like he did a lot of work organizing and cooking and I felt like i didn't contribute except my presence and my admirable laughter. We also played Cranium and Idy and Irocked when I said SMOOOOOKIN' :) P.S. Thanks for letting me use your shower, trust me I didn't do anything.............
  • BBQ with Mom Dad and Grandparents - finally cranked out the bbq in the backyard and enjoyed a sunday evening with parents to do some fancy bbqin'. It was alright, didn't make the meat as enjoyable as it should since i burnt some. But the korena bbq grill outdoors was nice.
  • Fun at RIM - Wow ok I went to work at 1 am after driving back from toronto on sunday night. Am I crazy or what? anyways it's weird working at work when ther'es noone around but it was creepy when i heard foot steps. So i did a bit of work and some thinking. I'm there cuz i'm stressed from not doing the best job at work. On my goals list you'll see the priority has been bumped up for RIM, work term report and studying for next term. I won't bore you, but i sletp at 3am which made today crappy. i'ts 9:54am i better get to bed to get ready for tommorow
Tommorow, will be another day at laurel creek practicing with Swordfish in preparation for ownage or being owned on the coming Saturday. We will give 110% i know it. and have an aewsome ass party saturday night to mark the end of the Swordfish db season. :)

I like this picture from Hamilton, It looks so fake but real... All of us guys in wife beaters :)

That's it folks for now!

Wakey Wakey

Argh, another only decent sleep. I always end up like this :p Today's going to be one heck of a long day with Hamtilon festival till afternoon and then bbq at Michelle L's!

Last night was good, had Ennios pasta with Alan. Apparently, he likes that place a lot and has been there with his family more than 5 times. I've been there once and I didn't recall how good it was. Price is not too bad either, shared an appetizer, had an entree pasta which btw was very garlicly (very good), entree came with bread and salad... for around 22 bucks + tips. Service was good and atmosphere was a relaxing type...

Soccer dad felix reccommends! A plus!

Hamilton Race - More DB Rants

Compared to Toronto, not feeling as much excitement for the race tommorow. Maybe I'm just looking forward to Waterloo festival and this is just a 'filler' race. No, but I will give it all i got tommorow so that we can finish second in A finals or at least be in B final for hardware...

TK gave me a bunch of constructive cryptic critism about my stroke from the sectional videos we took yesterday in Hamilton at practice and after 'thinking' that I had to do, I agreed with what he subtlely pointed out to me... Still need to confirm it with ron, dan h and Jason though.

That's been bugging me this morning on this fine Friday. Ah well, lots to do tonight.
Luckily I have my Idy to take care of my smelly laundry for me. So i'd have my underarmour compression shorts to wear tommorow. And luckily, it's only at 11:00 am that we race...

Gotta buy some groceries for tommorow and just be prepared and focused tommorow to give whatever I have for the team.

Re-evaluation of Goals

Check out the blog post I made earlier on in this work term from the link. For those of you who are not in Loo, a term is roughly 4 months.

Just a quick blog post to remind myself that I need to reevaluate these goals (marked for completion or "progress made" early July) and make some realistic adjustments. I will post a further detail update on what i'm doing and what i'm not doing. But I think from these posts, you guys probably have an idea where all my time and energy is spent :)

Reevaluation helps, me to plan for the rest of this term.

I would say i'm doing 40-50% of those goals.

Anyways I should work!

Oops last minute cancel

Oops, last minute cancellation from ron.

So it turns out i don't have pool practice this morning, alrighty... time to go to work!

Early Morning Feeling Sore Post @ 7:41 am

7:41 am, new record in a while since waking up for Toronto. Waking up early is good, I feel i still have a day ahead of me after work, though I'm not going straight to work right now but to the pool for some one on one critique with ron.

Feeling sore from yesterday and the day before. Anyways, don't feel like typing much, just wanna make a post to show to myself and others that indeed, Felix is.. awake *dun dun dun!* at 7:41 am

Honey Oats Cereal here I come!

Great practice Waterloo

Hello!!

Just got home from Laurel creek conservation area from a great practice with half the team and great guest paddlers! It was a good practice we really felt the boat moved with the amount of people we had. At least that's what Khanh said ( he was coaching us at the front ). Laurel creek, is where our Waterloo race will be. I've never been there but it's rather nice minus the smelly shallow docks where all the moss grows.

The rest of the team went to Ben Thanh's but me and Idy decided to come back home and cook some crrrrrazzzzzy dinner and of course can't miss out some mixed cocktails!

Thanks to Khanh, TK, Edgar, Noella for coxing, and my girlfriend Idy for helping us out in the practice today!

The drills we did with less rest were good minus the pause at the back drill which I still do not understand completely. Dropping those shoulders and reaching out at the catch ( by bending your body forward at the waist ) to enter the blade into the water really helped minimized my splashing problem.

A few boo boos: got a nasty shorts / underwear rash on my right lower abs from the repetitive motion we were performing and also a nasty rash under my left arm ( i wore a tank ), from the stupid lively dragon PFDs. We'll have long sleeves this saturday ( our uniforms ) and remember to wear t-shirt for this thursday's practice in Hamilton to minimize rash!

Alright, signing out now. Oh and tommorow I have a one on one date with ron at the pool .... to do some technique critique. (8:30am!!!) hopefully i'll wake up! :)

One last remark: We're rooting for some hardware this Saturday at Hamilton, PADDLE HARD TEAM.... GOOOOO SWORDFISH!!! GIVING 110% This SATURDAY WOOT!

And it's morning...

My head hurts, mustn't have been the mussels.

The DB crew and I went to CIF to do some core training and 1000m ERG sprints then headed over to Lucy's Seafood Kitchen and had ourselves 7.99 unlimited mussels. A fine dining place it was even for not it's unlimited mussels. Wouldn't mind trying it again. Overall it was a great night, as Idy and I finished it off with some Dipped Ice cream at Dairy Queens hm hmm hmmm....

Morning morning morning... soon, more DB practice tonight at Laurel Creek Conservation and at Hamilton this thursday. Then, we go race on saturday in hamilton july 9th already.

I can believe things are passing by quick because i'm having a blast so far, there's been so much to do and more things to be done in the coming weeks / weekends. Better start my work report though or i'll end up like last term where i messed up a week of schooling trying to cram that work report in the first week of classes.

Alright, time for work no more chit chat. Have a good day everyone!

BBQ All weekend :)

Quite a weekend it was, and it ended rather quick. Sleeping too much on the weekend and ending up to be tired throughout the day isn't good at all. Managed to see some ontario place fireworks on an rooftop appt party hosted by Idy's friend Cheryl. It was nice, bbq, booze, jedi knights on xbox, chilin'.. ahh..

Thanks to Cheryl and Pat for hosting such a great yearly event. Great home brewed wine Pat :) And I'm sure you enjoy idy's cheesecake.

Tonight was another bbq at Dan H's place, very good weather today led us to chill in his backyard on the deck till the mosquitos came. Again, DanJ's personality made the party something opposite to normal in a good way of course :) Overall it was an awesome night filled with group singing ( cheesy oldies and teen bopper pop songs ) , guitar accompaniment, bbq sausage meat, ice cream, short limbo session, and socializing.

Thanks to Dan H for offering his place for the bbq and cooking up the sausages making sure we don't get food poisoning!

ooooo also bought a pair of white leather shoes for 25 bucks and a cool necklace for 4 dollras at square one!! What a big mall!! Anyhow, i would write more of my thoughts but i haven't too much at this moment, so sleeeepy, I wonder if Fabian and Antonia noticed I was swerving hmm....

Anyways, ciao and goodnite.
